Class Descriptions

Power Yoga

Power Yoga is a energetic asana based class influenced by Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow yoga.

There will be a focus on breath, cardiovascular movements, core stability and strength building to increase stamina. Power yoga is also a great tool to build your flexibility, improve your concentration, blood circulation, and tone your muscles.

There will be immediate physical benefits to your bones, muscles and joints by integrating balancing, weight bearing and awareness of good postural alignment. This will naturally calm the mind, and strengthen the body.

Great for anxiety, stress or stagnant energy or to simply get moving and let go.

The momentum of Power yoga helps to deeply warm up the body but also helps to clear the mind to experience the feelings of inner peace, that invites us to rest in higher state of awareness.

Restorative Yoga

Deeply relaxing, slow and restorative practice to enable you to connect to your body, breath and rest. You will find yourself in passive supported postures (mostly supine - with props) held for long periods of time to allow for deep openings and the nervous system to re-balance through slowing down of breath and heart beat.

This practice ignites the parasympathetic nervous system in the body that is responsible for good physical health and emotional well being (digestion, gland activity, hormone secretion ect) . This practice is perfect if you have had a injury, a stressful day, been sick or feel like your in need of a emotional release.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing asana sequence that strings poses together that co-ordinate with the breath. The poses move between a variation of dynamic, static and resting asanas and in essence are deeply warming the body. This settles the mind while opening us up to the potential experience of feeling inner peace and connectedness.

This vinyasa flow is inspired by a background in somatic movement, contemporary dance and meditation to invite us to drop into the experience of physical freedom and energetic cellular embodiment.

This depth of inquiry in this class is great for yoga students that have a interest beyond asana, great for yoga teachers and anyone with a interest in creative flow that explores aspects of philosophy and how it integrates into our lives to create health and spiritual wellbeing.
